Sandustry Aura: Extractor and Automation Guide

Sandustry aura is a late-game currency made by turning Aurixite into Auralite, Crystals and then Aura with an Extractor and targeted nanobot swarm.

Direct Answer

Process Aurixite in a Shaker to obtain Auralite, then use the Tier 6 Aura Extractor to attract Auralite and convert it into Auralite Crystals. Select the Extractor and target a Crystal with the nanobot swarm to break it down into Aura. Aura is a non-physical late-game currency used for Research, including Swarm Zoning.

Aura and Auralite are different

Aura is a non-physical currency used in late-game progression. Auralite is a physical Material that moves through the production setup before becoming a Crystal. Confusing the two can make the Extractor process difficult to understand.

Gold is primarily used for Research earlier in the game, while Fluxite is used for Upgrades to tools, weapons, and drones. Aura later pays for late-game Research. The official material does not treat Aura as a normal pile that can be carried on a Conveyor Belt.

The complete Aura production chain

The verified chain begins with Aurixite entering a Shaker and producing Auralite. Auralite moves toward an Aura Extractor, becomes an Auralite Crystal at the glowing point, and is then broken down by the nanobot swarm. The final output is the non-physical Aura currency.

Written as a sequence, the chain is Aurixite → Shaker → Auralite → Aura Extractor → Auralite Crystal → Nanobot Swarm → Aura. Each named stage comes from the official material. Exact per-cycle quantities and production time are To be confirmed.

Unlock and operate the Aura Extractor

The Aura Extractor unlocks at Viability or Factory Tier 6. It periodically attracts nearby Auralite toward its radius. When a piece reaches the glowing point, it becomes an Auralite Crystal.

Select the Extractor and target the Crystal with the nanobot swarm to convert that Crystal into Aura. The supplied research does not provide a verified keyboard shortcut for this targeting step. Any shortcut or automated behavior before Swarm Zoning is To be confirmed.

Prevent transport interference

The Extractor's attraction can pull Auralite away from a Conveyor or Launcher route. The official Wiki therefore recommends putting Shakers close to the Aura Extractor. A short path reduces the distance over which attraction competes with normal transport.

The Aura Extractor cannot be moved while it contains Auralite Crystals. Clear or process the stored Crystals before attempting a layout change. Exact safe spacing from unrelated transport lines is To be confirmed because the research gives no universal tile measurement.

Automate Aura with Swarm Zoning

Aura can be spent on late-game Research, and one confirmed unlock is Swarm Zoning. Swarm Zoning makes the nanobot swarm automatically target Auralite Crystals. That removes the manual targeting step from the verified production chain.

Creator footage discusses broader automation with nanobots, digger drones, haulers, and revised factory flow, but several video labels are less precise than the official Wiki chain. This page uses the official Aurixite, Auralite, Crystal, Extractor, and Aura terminology. Exact output scaling from extra nanobots is To be confirmed.

Unlocks and production requirements

Sandustry buildings can depend on Research tier, Factory Level, a currency cost, and a precise material input. The Kinetic Press is an early example unlocked at Research Tier 2, while the Aura Extractor belongs to Tier 6 late-game progression. A machine appearing in a video does not establish that it is available at the same point in every version.

Production also depends on physical setup, not only selecting a recipe. Burnt Residue needs a verified minimum fall before the Kinetic Press accepts it, while Auralite must reach the glowing area of an Extractor before becoming a Crystal. Exact conditions are preserved when known, and missing rates are marked To be confirmed.

Diagnose the input before rebuilding

When a building stops, first verify the material name, state, direction, and unlock requirement. Incorrect material may remain in place, an input may arrive with insufficient motion, or a nearby attraction effect may pull it off route. These physical failures can look like a broken machine even when the building is operating under its documented rules.

Check the output path next because Gold, Seeds, Crystals, or rejected pixels can create congestion around a working process. Angled Launchers can clear the top of a Kinetic Press, while short placement between Shakers and an Aura Extractor reduces transport interference. Universal throughput targets and buffer sizes are To be confirmed.

Connect buildings to progression

A production building is most useful when its outputs feed the next verified system. Kinetic Press Gold supports Research and its Seed can become Wet Seed, Flower, Amethelis, and Energy inputs. Aura production converts Aurixite through Auralite and Crystals into a late-game Research currency.

Logistics should keep incompatible materials from entering sensitive buildings. Filters, Launchers, belts, fans, and separate routes can protect an input line while moving valid outputs onward. The best arrangement depends on terrain and scale, so exact tile-perfect layouts remain To be confirmed unless a Blueprint is supplied and version-tested.

Automation and source boundaries

Official Wiki pages establish building purpose, unlocks, processing conditions, and confirmed outputs. Creator videos add practical examples of blockages, storage pressure, or larger loops, but unclear terminology is normalized to the official material names. No undocumented value is promoted merely because it appears in one layout.

Automation removes repeated manual handling after the verified chain works reliably. Late-game Research such as Swarm Zoning can automate a previously manual targeting step, while simpler logistics can clear rejected inputs automatically. Features not confirmed for the current Early Access version remain To be confirmed.

Use this guide with the current Early Access build

Sandustry entered Early Access on August 13, 2026 and continues to receive official updates. The current official Wiki is the primary gameplay reference when it differs from an older Demo discussion, while Steam and Xbox listings are the primary platform references. A creator video can demonstrate a working layout, but it does not automatically establish a universal value or current-version rule.

Check the page's verified sources when an update changes a recipe, cost, tool restriction, platform feature, or interface path. This guide preserves confirmed numbers only where the supplied research names them and labels unresolved details To be confirmed. That approach keeps the answer usable for search while preventing an unsupported count, character name, redeem code, command, or production ratio from becoming false guidance.

Verified sources used

This page filters and consolidates the supplied research. Any detail not established by those sources is marked To be confirmed.
